Overview

Vael’s Billabong High-Kangaroo Kids, Neelankarai, Chennai has grown from an initial student enrolment of 55 to over 450 students presently. The preschool is a franchisee of the Mumbai-based Kangaroo Kids Education Ltd (KKEL). The school believes that all children should have the opportunity to experience the joy of discovery and develop a love of learning.

Campus

The school campus hosts fully air-conditioned and spacious classrooms with audio visual aids, fully equipped art lab, a vibrant doll house equipped with indoor gym, air-conditioned library features rich collection of books, magazines, journals, newspapers for reference and learning. Other facilities include an open air auditorium which can accommodate around 1000 people and an International standard swimming pool.

Academics

The school’s curriculum focuses on learning by doing and caters to all kinds of learners; auditory learners, visual learners, kinesthetic learners, etc. Vael’s Billabong High-Kangaroo Kids follows a learner centred rather than a teacher centred approach which embraces the theory of Multiple Intelligences and diverse learning styles. A curriculum development team ensures that the teaching modules are designed to foster hands-on learning. Its inclusive policy ensures integration of children with learning difficulties. The preschool also encourages its faculty to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge. It is mandatory for teachers to undergo at least one training session every year in areas such as new teaching methodologies, use of technology in class and related subjects.
