The Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) Class 10 Board Exam 2020 which began on February 17, 2020, expelled as many as 50 students for cheating on the very first day. 

On the other hand, a total of 432 students appearing for class 12 exams were found cheating. Out of this, 26 were impersonators. A total of 13.15 lakh students were registered for the higher secondary exams.

According to board officials, the maximum incidents of copying for the class 10 board exam were reported from Nalanda, where 12 candidates were found cheating. Apart from that, a total of six candidates were expelled in Rohtas, Madhubani, three in Bhojpur, Saran, Madhupura, and other districts.

Over 15,29,393 students appeared in the class 10 board examination conducted in two phases with 7,74,415 students registered for the first phase, and 7,54,978 for the second phase.

Regarding the class 12 exam cheating case, BSEB spokesperson, Rajiv Dubey said, “The board had expelled a total of 432 students from class 12 exams and proper actions as per rules were taken against them. There were 26 imposters pretending to be a student and appearing the exam on someone else’s behalf. We have caught them and will make sure that strict actions even FIR, if necessary will be filed against them.”

To keep a check on the students whether they are cheating or not, the board has taken several measures. All examination centres will be under CCTV surveillance and there will be a videographer for 500 students each.

The students will be screened twice at the exam centre and before entering the hall. The students will be checked by a policeman at the exam centre and an invigilator will inspect 25 students in batches before letting them enter the exam hall.

Female candidates will be checked by women police constables. The board has also made special arrangements for the female examinees with four model centres set up at every district.
