Evolving parameters
My heartiest congratulations to EducationWorld for the comprehensive EW India School Rankings 2022-23 Part I and Part II (EW September and October) issues.
As a committed reader of EW — especially the school rankings surveys — I am impressed with your evolving parameters of school education excellence over the years. Another welcome inclusion is the Vintage Legacy Schools league tables in eight sub-categories. They are indeed a class apart.

Timely feedback need
I fully agree with Tara Quigley’s views on the ‘Importance of providing timely feedback’ to students (Teacher-2-Teacher, EW October).
As a primary school teacher, I have noticed that children always show more interest in their work, become more interactive and are open to discussion when regular and timely feedback is provided.
I empathise with teachers who have back-to-back classes and are deputed for non-academic duties with little time to give “timely, specific and actionable” feedback. It is important to understand that delayed feedback serves no purpose at all.

Erroneous classification
I wish to bring to your notice in Part II (EW October) of the latest EWISR 2022-23, Sree Vidyanikethan International School, Tirupati is ranked #3 in Andhra Pradesh in the co-ed boarding schools category.
Please note that ours is a co-ed day-cum-boarding school. Kindly reclassify us in future.
Rajesh Patil, Principal, Sree Vidyanikethan International School, Tirupati
Nomenclature confusion
I draw your attention to the EW India School Rankings 2022-23 Part I (EW September). In the co-ed day schools category, in Tapi district you have ranked Singhania Public School, Fort Songadh #2 and Delhi Public School #1. According to our information there is no Delhi Public School in the Tapi district of Gujarat.
For your information Singhania Public School, Fort Songadh has been continuously ranked #1 in Tapi in your surveys from 2017-2021. Please rectify the information published on your website.
Dr. Navin Kumar Sharma, Principal, Singhania Public School, Fort Songadh, Tapi District
Sorry. There is a DPS, Tapi in the contiguous Surat district. The rectification has been made — Editor
Rishi Valley mystery
In Part II (EW October) issue of the EW India School Rankings 2022-23, I was surprised to find the Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh) excluded from the co-ed boarding schools league tables.
I recall the school being routinely ranked #1 for several years. Any reason for its sudden exclusion? Kindly shed some light.
Madhukar Rao, Hyderabad
Rishi Valley School has been moved to the new category of Vintage Legacy co-ed boarding schools where it is ranked India #1. Please see pg.58 (EW October) — Editor
Old schools wiped out!
We have been taken out of your boarding schools league tables altogether. When our parents studied the boys boarding schools league table, Bishop Cotton School, Shimla was conspicuously missing. It has been moved to your new Vintage Legacy category which no parent is likely to search.
I believe this is a ploy to wipe out old schools. There is no reference at all to our school in the boarding schools or any type of category alongside. How is this fair?
Moreover, our aggregate score is higher than of The Doon School, yet we have ended up in a distant category nobody is likely to care about. Please put us back on the map!
Rebecca Weale, Bishop Cotton School, Shimla
League tables listing Vintage Legacy schools are prominently displayed on our website as well as published in the magazine. Moreover, the aggregate score awarded to BCS, Shimla is out of a total of 1,600 cf. 1,500 for non-vintage schools including The Doon School, because all vintage schools have been assessed on an additional parameter of quality of alumni — Editor
Corrigendum
On page 106 (EW October), the previous year’s ranks of Vista International School Hyderabad have been inadvertently published as 36 (2019)|4 (2020)|4 (2021) instead of 186|222|124.
