The council had bifurcated the final examinations and conducted two tests, one each at the end of each semester both at ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) levels in  the 2021-22 academic year.

 

The board exams under the old system are likely to be conducted in February/ March next year, the council said.

 

 The decision to conduct the board examinations in two semesters for the 2021- 22 batches of ICSE and ISC  had been taken by the council last year in view of the pandemic and the disruption in academic activities caused due to the closure of schools during the lockdown. The Semester 1 exam was held in November – December last year and Semester 2 in April.

 

“It has been decided by the council to conduct only ONE EXAMINATION at the end of the Academic Year 2022-23 both at the ICSE & ISC levels. The CISCE proposes to hold the said examinations tentatively in the months of February/March 2023,” a circular signed by Gerry Arathoon, secretary and chief executive of the council said on Friday.

 

The syllabus in select subjects has been revised for the 2023 exams. The revised syllabus is available in the publication section of the CISCE website.

 

The council today directed all its affiliated schools to plan their academic calendar accordingly so that students get adequately prepared for the exams in 2023.

 

The specimen papers for all the subjects will be made available in the CISCE website in July, the council said.

Schools have been asked to disseminate the information to all students, teachers and guardians.

 

In 2021 the ICSE and ISC exams had to be cancelled in view of the huge surge in number of Covid 19 cases.
