Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, formerly known as the Delhi college of Engineering, is a state university established in 1941 offering B.Tech., B.A. (Hons. Eco), B.Des., M.Tech, M.Sc., M.B.A., B.B.A. and Ph.D. programs in various specializations.
The institute has been under the Government of Delhi since 1963 and was affiliated with the University of Delhi from 1952 to 2009. In July 2009 DCE was upgraded to a state university and renamed Delhi Technological University, through the Delhi Technological University Bill, 2009.
Campus
The 164-acre DTU main campus is lush green and well connected by road. Facilities include a library, a computer center, a sports complex, eight boys’ hostels, three girls’ hostels, and a married couples’ hostel. The campus has residential facilities for faculty and staff. The campus has an auditorium and an open air theater.
The library at Delhi College of Engineering also acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. Being a central place for academic and research activities, it has a well equipped conference hall with the seating capacity of 150 for academic discussions and reading rooms for 300 users. It also has a very rich collection of relevant books and journals. DCE has a well equipped centralized computer center to cater to the needs of high profile students and faculty in the college. It is housed in a state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG, PG and research students. The center possesses a number of servers and over 150 Compaq Pentium-IV computer systems.

Placements:
DTU partners with various global and national corporations for placement drives. The performance of its students strengthens the value of the university, with industry partnership an alumni support to ensure proper placement of its meritorious students. The annually-conducted DTU placement programme aids in matching students with the correct recruiters based on student merit and capabilities and recruiters’ needs and requirements. DTU recruiters include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Samsung, Uber and Hindustan Unilever. Placement procedure is as follows:
- The DTU placement cell invites national and international corporations to participate in placement drives, and asks them to make details of jobs available to students (via resume manager). Pre-placement talks are also conducted in some cases.
- Companies are provided with a list of students and resumes, which they shortlist for the final interview and recruitment process.
2021 placement highlights: The highest CTC was recorded at INR 13 LPA while the average CTC was recorded at INR 7.2 LPA.

Admission
Undergraduate Admissions: B.Tech.
Selection Criteria: JEE (Main) score/rank | CEE entrance for lateral/evening course
Eligibility: 10+2 in PCM from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in qualifying exams.
Admission Process:
- Candidates are required to apply for admission to DTU and apply and appear for the JEE (Main) exams.
- After securing a valid score in the JEE (Main) exams, candidates must attend the Joint Admission Counselling, Delhi where they will be allotted seats in DTU B.Tech. programmes based on their JEE scores/ranks.
- Students allotted seats in DTU may confirm their admission by the verification of documents and the payment of fees.
Undergraduate Admissions: B.A./B.B.A.
Selection Criteria: merit in qualifying (10+2) exam
Eligibility: 10+2 in PCM from a recognised board (compulsory subjects- mathematics for B.A. and English for B.B.A.) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in qualifying exams.

Selection Criteria: UCEED score
Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board / AIU-recognised HSC Vocational examination and valid UCEED scores.
Admission Process:
- Candidates must apply for admission through the DTU official website with the submission of required documents and details and payment of application fees. Applicants must also apply and appear for the UCEED examinations.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their UCEED scores.
- Qualifying candidates may confirm their admission by the verification of documents and the payment of fees.
Postgraduate Admissions: M.Tech.
Selection Criteria: GATE score and performance in interview (written test for sponsored M.Tech. programme).
Eligibility: B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc./Diploma in relevant stream/specialisation from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60% in graduation and valid GATE scores.
Admission Process:
- Candidates must apply for admission through the DTU official website with the submission of required documents and details and payment of application fees. Applicants must also apply and appear for the GATE examinations.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their GATE scores. This is followed by an interview round.
- Candidates applying for the sponsored M.Tech (Full Time/ Part Time) course have to qualify a written test conducted by DTU
- Qualifying candidates may confirm their admission by the verification of documents and the payment of fees.
Postgraduate Admissions: M.Sc.
Selection Criteria: merit in entrance examination.
Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. in relevant stream/specialisation from a recognised university
Admission Process:

- Candidates will have to appear for a DTU-administered entrance, the scores obtained in which shall be the basis of shortlisting.

Selection Criteria: CAT score and performance in group discussion and personal interview.
Eligibility: bachelor’s degree in relevant stream/specialisation from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60% in graduation and valid CAT scores.
Admission Process:
- Candidates must apply for admission through the DTU official website with the submission of required documents and details and payment of application fees. Applicants must also apply and appear for the CAT examinations.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT scores. This is followed by a group discussion and personal interview round.

Doctoral Admissions

Eligibility: M.Tech./M.E. in relevant stream/specialisation from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60% in graduation

Achievement
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked DTU 36th in the engineering category in 2020. DTU was ranked first among engineering colleges by Times Engineering Rankings 2020 and ninth by Outlook India and India Today in 2020.
Accommodation
DTU provides campus accommodation; the institute has eight boys and six girls hostels in the campus.
