IIT-K-JKCL partnership
Kanpur, october 26. IIT-Kanpur and JK Cement Ltd (JKCL, estb.1975), signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) to collaborate in the construction of a super specialty hospital on the IIT-K campus. JKCL has consented to support the initiative with CSR (corporate social responsibility) funding of Rs.60 crore.
The MoU is part of the IIT-K’s endeavour to catalyse a paradigm shift in medical research and innovation in India. Under the agreement, IIT-K will establish a School of Medical Research and Technology (SMRT) and centers of excellence on futuristic medicines as additions to the super specialty hospital.
“We are very grateful for the generous contribution of JKCL towards establishing a super specialty hospital which will benefit the residents of Kanpur as well as people from other parts of the country. The proposed hospital will be associated with our School of Medical Research and Technology and will play an important role in driving IIT-K’s innovations in medical science and technology,” said Prof. Abhay Karandikar, director of IIT-K, speaking on the occasion.
Pearson presents Digital Library
Delhi, october 26. Pearson India — a subsidiary of Pearson Plc, UK which markets its products and services in 200 countries worldwide — has launched Digital Library, a comprehensive digital learning solution providing institutes, teachers and learners with a vast range of e-book collections and digital content across multiple disciplines.
According to a company spokesperson, the new digital library offers online reading content and quick revision tools such as voice notes, highlights, hyperlinks and weblinks and access to study material 24×7. Students can access the digital library through multiple devices such as laptops, mobile phones and desktop systems.

EuroSchool’s nature school
Bengaluru, october 22. EuroSchool is set to inaugurate its 14th school countrywide and fifth campus in Bengaluru early next year. Spread across five acres, the CBSE-affiliated EuroSchool, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, is designed to accommodate 2,000 students — from Jr. KG-class XII. This new school will become operational in the academic year 2022-23.

Start-ups B-school
New delhi, october 27. Stoa School — India’s first online business school focused on developing talent for the startup economy — has roped in Nithin Kamath (co-founder, Zerodha); Kunal Shah (founder, CRED); Gagan Biyani (co-founder, Udemy); Richa Kar (co-founder, Zivame); Raveen Sastry (co-founder, Myntra); Phanindra Sama (co-founder, RedBus) among others, to underwrite the institution.

ABEA-Renzulli collaboration
Mumbai, october 8.
