According to a recent survey, parents make as many as 221 mistakes a year. The survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste uncovered the challenges faced by modern parents. According to the statistics, by the time a baby becomes a full-grown adult, the average parent would have made around 3978 mistakes.

The study was conducted on 2000 American parents between the ages of 23 and 36. It tested them on a number of parenting factors such as leveraging screen time, using profane words in front of the little ones and not regulating content which they have access to.

The survey also stated that most parents believe age 6-7 years as the most difficult time to handle their kids and their behaviour raised a cause of concern for them. Some parents were also ready to make considerable sacrifices for their kids such as giving up social media, giving up alcohol, and limiting internet time as well.

First-time parents admitted to making more mistakes than others, adding they lacked “experience”. Only 2 percent of respondents said that they were fully ready to handle babies, while the majority said that they were never really prepared.

More than fathers, mothers felt guilty and responsible if they committed a mistake. Plus, when it came down to covering up for the “mistakes” and asking advice, there exists a big difference in the way parents approached that. While 42 percent found it easy to ask their partner, 41 percent said they turned to their own parents, 31 percent said they relied on fellow parents. But, surprisingly, all of them said that the internet came handy in teaching them helpful parenting tips.
