Kolhapur-based Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU, estb.2009) – promoted by the Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions — is the only private university in the south-western belt of Maharashtra offering UG, PG and PhD study programmes. The SGU campus hosts state-of-the-art classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, residential and sports facilities, Tata Technology Competency Centre and a Mechatronic Car Lab.

Internationalism

The university has signed partnership agreements with several international universities such as the University of South Carolina, Columbia (USA) and Teesside University, Middllesbrough (UK) for student and faculty immersion programmes

SGU encourages academic research and innovation and has so far received four patents.

Range/diversity of programmes offered

Apart from offering 50 UG, PG and Ph D courses in seven streams and 13 specialisations, SGU offers a choice based credit system under which students can choose subjects from a range of disciplines.
