Stringent measures are in place to ensure no malpractices occur during the exams held for filling up vacant posts of primary school teachers in the state, minister for primary and secondary education, BC Nagesh said.

Exams are scheduled on May 21 and 22 in the state to fill the 15,000 vacant posts for primary school teachers (graduates) across Karnataka.

Nagesh said, “There are 15,000 teachers who will appear for social studies, mathematics, English and biology exams. We have received 1.06 lakh applications for the same. Examinations will be held in 435 centres. To ensure that it happens smoothly, inter-department meetings have been held. The home department has planned specific measures for the same.”

The rules mandate that candidates come to exam centres one hour before the commencement of exams. CCTV cameras have been installed in all exam centres. Seating arrangements have been made for 20 students in each class. Prohibitory orders will be imposed 100 mts around the exam centre. Meetings are being held, chaired by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to discuss the stringent measures to be imposed besides these.
