In what can be termed a concerted effort to improve the quality of education for students across Uttar Pradesh, the state’s school education department has appointed 25 nodal officers to monitor the government’s three flagship education programs – NIPUN Bharat Mission, Operation Kayakalp, and Mid-Day Meal scheme.
The aim of these programs is to ensure that every government school in the state has access to basic facilities and that universal foundational literacy and numeracy is achieved by 2025.
These nodal officers will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of these programs. They will attend monthly review meetings with the district magistrate and chief development officer, tracking the progress of classroom transactions under NIPUN and the number of parameters satisfied under Operation Kayakalp. The officers will also keep a close eye on the state of dilapidated school buildings and piped water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Initiated by the Director General, School Education, as part of this move, these nodal officers will also monitor the financial progress of the NIPUN Bharat Mission and Operation Kayakalp, making sure that funds released for these programs are being used effectively. They will conduct agenda-based meetings with state resource groups, block education officers, and district coordinators to ensure that the programs are running smoothly.
The education department of the Uttar Pradesh government is taking a major step towards its goal of universal foundational literacy and numeracy by 2025 with the appointment of these 25 nodal officers. By ensuring that each government school has access to basic facilities, they are creating a brighter future for the state’s students.
